After the storm

A group of United Nations agencies as well as members of the Red Cross took to the air Saturday to assess the damage from Hurricane Tomas. While Haiti really sidestepped a major disaster, this country is so precarious that even small rains can cause major problems. Among those are mud slides that can block roads and inhibit the influx of aid.
For 5 bum numbing hours we flew across most of the central and northern part of the country and the photos that follow show that while not devastating, there will still be repercussions from the near miss.
